Effective Stakeholder Engagement in Complex Projects
*A minimum number of 12 participants applies.
Skilled complex project leaders who can develop a more meaningful relationship with stakeholders are needed to successfully deliver complex projects and projects being delivered in complex environments. The practice of interacting with stakeholders around projects needs to expand from a focus on stakeholder management – and a view of stakeholders simply as entities to be ‘communicated with’, ‘changed’ or ‘managed’ – to a focus on genuine stakeholder engagement. Here stakeholders are acknowledged as entities with legitimate interests and rights that require authentic engagement and co-creation so that the project creates optimal value for all stakeholders.
“Effective Stakeholder Engagement in Complex Projects gets to the heart of why and how effective communication, collaboration, culture and stakeholder engagement are critical to the success of complex projects. The practical tools and concepts discussed are informative, as is the opportunity to hear from other project managers on their experience in dealing with complex project environments.”
“The ICCPM course enabled a framework for me to help communicate a more adaptive approach to our decision, collaborative and management processes. Highly recommended for all staff and not just project managers.”
“The ICCPM Effective Stakeholder Engagement in Complex Projects is a really great 3-day course that extends on general project and business management by introducing concepts that you’d not normally be exposed to. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to improve their ability to respond to complex business scenarios.”
“This course was very useful – it provided me with theory and practical exercises to explore complexity in the context of project management. It’s helped me learn and reflect upon how I show up as a project manager, what my default instincts are and which contexts they are useful in (and which contexts they aren’t so useful in, more importantly!). I’ve benefited from attending this course now and into the future.”
“This course challenges some preconceived ideas I had about the nature of projects. It gave me a range of new tools and perspectives to apply in the event that the project becomes challenging or complex, with some clear guidance on how to respond appropriately.“
“I thoroughly enjoyed this course. I think it was the perfect marriage of theory and practise. I learnt a variety of tools and techniques to help me better engage, understand and communicate to my stakeholders. I particularly liked the Network Design activity. I will be using that one! There was a diverse mix of people in the course which added to the learning. Thanks ICCPM.“
“I would recommend ICCPM courses to any organisation looking to invest in their staff’s knowledge and experience, the facilitators are well voiced in the subject matter and are extremely professional in the deliver of content.“
“Regardless if you have a deep understanding or quite limited experience in stakeholder engagement this course will providing an engaging way to reinforce pre-established skill sets and or build new skills to help you with your professional pathway.“
