On the 18^th of December 2023, the International Centre for Complex Project Management (ICCPM), released the report Data Analytics for Informed Decision-Making in Complex Projects: Exploring the Human-Data Relationship.

With rapid advances in data analytics and associated technologies including Artificial Intelligence (AI), there has been an increased focus on data-driven projects. The idea that by datafying aspects of project management, organisations can gain valuable insights into the performance and efficiency of their projects is attractive. Our exploration of emergence in the previous International Roundtable Series highlighted the importance of timely, trusted information in the management of risk and opportunity in complex projects. This thought leadership series builds on that work and explores the potential role of data analytics and AI in decision-making and identifying and responding to emergence.

The ICCPM International Roundtable Series was established in 2009 as a thought leadership initiative to help organisations understand contemporary needs and stay at the forefront of successful complex project delivery. It draws on the expertise of experienced practitioners and leading academics to explore complexity in project environments.

ICCPM would like to express our thanks to the Roundtable participants. Across the seven face-to-face and four online workshops, participants from thirteen countries and a wide range of industries gave their time and shared valuable insights and experiences with the view to benefiting others who deal with similar challenges.
