Director of Business Development
ICCPM is Hiring

ICCPM is looking for a Director of Business Development to join our small team in Canberra and drive national growth across our membership base of corporate and government organisations and individuals. The successful candidate will achieve these results by proactively engaging with new and existing clients, members and stakeholders, and by working closely with the CEO to develop growth strategies and product plans.

Who is ICCPM?

The International Centre for Complex Project Management (ICCPM) is a not-for-profit organisation, and an international Peak Body supporting complex project delivery. We strive to equip project professionals and organisations across all industry and government sectors with the specialised skills, knowledge and ability to effectively deal with complexity in project environments.

This role is based in Canberra, ACT

Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop and maintain the organisation’s products, offerings and value proposition
  • Implement a growth strategy focused on increasing the membership base
  • Identify opportunities to develop new services, products and distribution channels
  • Manage the promotion and administration of the organisation’s networking events
  • Attend relevant industry functions such as association events and conferences to network and gather information on market trends

Skills and experience:

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate strong strategic business development experience together with relationship and consultative selling experience. This is a senior strategic role that requires a qualification, or significant experience in the field of marketing, communications, business development and/or general business management. Project management qualification and /or experience will be a bonus.

Selection Criteria

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in strategic relationship sales or business development
  • A minimum of 5 years of managerial experience
  • Currently residing in the ACT
  • Proven track record in developing and executing business development plans
  • Demonstrated track record of success in meeting and exceeding sales targets
  • Excellent active listening, negotiation, presentation, consultative sales, and relationship management skills
  • Commercial acumen and ability to think strategically and systemically
  • Demonstrated experience with writing successful business proposals

Preference will be given to applicants who have membership-based / peak body / professional association experience.
