I thought it was about time for an update to my bio.
Greg Fackender started his professional civil engineering career as a cadet with the (then) Dept of Main Roads NSW, graduating from UNSW in 1977. He stayed with that organisation until 1989, when he started with Walker Civil Engineering, now working as a contractor rather than a principal, later becoming a project management consultant in 1996.
After a couple of changes in employer, Greg founded his own management consulting practice (Endstate), and operated successfully for 17 years until the (amicable) parting of the Endstate Principals in 2018. Specialising in large public infrastructure, Endstate’s client base was about equal shares public/private for State/Federal Govts and the Tier 1 contractors/consultants.
In 2019, Greg started with Transport for NSW as a Portfolio Risk Manager, and is currently the Commercial Director for the new Western Harbour Tunnel and Beaches Link road projects in Sydney.
Greg enjoys establishing the real mission involved in each assignment, articulating what success looks like at the finish (the endstate), and then effectively communicating that vision to the team.
