This presentation by Andrew Pyke will dissect a report written by the ICCPM Managing Risk in Complexity Special Interest Group (MRC SIG) in 2023, Considerations Regarding Transitions in Complex Projects.
In complex projects, it is often difficult to ascertain the early or weak signals indicating the initiation of transition processes amidst high levels of ‘noise’ in the volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous (VUCA) and interconnected world. Transitions can be anticipated in planning, but can also come upon the project with little warning. Complex projects need to consider the challenge of identifying transition requirements and unexpected transitions as early as possible to enable an appropriate response.
