Alicia Aitken Re-elected
as ICCPM Chairperson

Alicia Aitken

ICCPM Chair Dr Alicia Aitken

At an ICCPM Strategy Meeting held last June, ICCPM Board Members voted to re-elect Dr Alicia Aitken as the ICCPM Chairperson for a two-year term. Alicia is the GM Strategy Delivery & Governance, leading the ANZ Investment Management, Delivery Excellence, Value Assurance and Enterprise Risk Management functions. Prior to her role at ANZ, she held the position of Chief Project Officer for Telstra, where she led the organisation’s journey to establish project management as a stand-alone capability separate from IT, business and engineering skills.

In addition to her role as Chair and Non-Executive Director on the ICCPM Board, Alicia is an Advisory Board Member of the Office of Projects Victoria, Astrolabe Group, Pioneera and Cloudfloat. Other Members of the ICCPM Board consist of Collin Smith as Managing Director and CEO, and Dr Phil Crosby, Tim Banfield and Rebecca Wheadon as Non-Executive Directors.

Alicia will be speaking at the Project and Program Management Symposium (PGCS) on the 16th August 2022. Her presentation, Scheduling: The Forgotten Art, will discuss how careful planning and scheduling can play a critical role in achieving project success. ICCPM Director, Industry Liaison and Member Services, Dr Naomi Mathers, will also be speaking at the event. To learn more, visit the PGCS website.

Among the ICCPM projects planned for the current financial year is the recent launch of the 2022-23 ICCPM International Roundtable Series with the theme of Data Analytics for Informed Decision Making in Complex Projects. The theme aims to examine ‘data’ and ‘analytics’ for decision making in both quantitative and qualitative aspects, and will incorporate the entanglement of the human experience as part of our relationship with machines. See webpage.

The ICCPM International Roundtable Series is a biennial Thought Leadership initiative that brings together senior practitioners and academics at designated workshops in Australia and overseas to share their experiences and expertise. The first Roundtable workshop will be held in Canberra on 18th August 2022. To register or see upcoming workshops, click here. Participants’ valuable insights will serve to inform an outcomes report that will provide practitioners with practical steps to improve project success. See previous reports.
