Western Sydney University (ICCPM Academic Partner) Awarded 2023 PGCS Academic Research Grant

ICCPM is sending a resounding congratulations to ICCPM Academic Partner, Western Sydney University, who have been awarded the 2023 PGCS Research Grant with the award going to a new study lead by Primary Researcher Dr. Robert Osei-Kyei (Senior Lecturer in Project Management, School of Engineering, Design and Built Environment, Western Sydney University, Parramatta South Campus). We are thrilled to be supporting this study as ICCPM Managing Director and CEO, Collin Smith, will be involved as an Industry Advisor and Reviewer.

The study ‘Developing a net-zero carbon project management competency maturity model for infrastructure projects in Australia‘ will be Supervised by Associate Professor Xiaohua Jin (Associate Professor in Project Management, Western Sydney University), supported by Mr James Bawtree (CEO, PMLogic) and Mr Collin Smith as Industry Advisors and Reviewers, and Mr Isaac Akomea-Frimpong as Research Assistant.

Aim and Objectives
The aim of this research is to develop a net zero carbon project management competency maturity model for infrastructure projects delivery in Australia. The aim will be achieved through the following derived objectives.

1. Explore and evaluate the critical roles and competencies of Project Managers in achieving net zero carbon in infrastructure project lifecycle.
2. To explore the process categories, key process areas and maturity levels of net zero carbon project management and develop a competency maturity model
3. To test and validate the net zero carbon project management competency maturity model Proposed
